February
04:34
|

It’s the month of February the trees shimmering covered thickly in ice
The branches cross and form a dark web ‘tween the trunk and the sky
When the wind blows and the dead leaves rustle a crackle in the air
Branchlets hanging down almost to the frozen ground from the massive dead weight
Black night is pierced by the moonlight
Crystalline branches twinkle like chimes
The snow reflects beams into the night
Everything dead but also full of life
Poking through the snow are the deep red branches of the dogwood
The berries on the shrubs crimson and green make a late winter’s feast
A winter’s thick coat of soft warm fur and insulating feathers
Foxes mice and tits prancing underfoot of the leafless trees
The blue night is pierced by singing
The snow flecked branches join in the song
Echoes of nature waking up the dead
Everything’s alive in February

Ice Cave
04:41
|

Deep under ground
A ringing sound
Of crystal blue
An ancient hue
Light refracts
Where skin retracts
Shivering
Quivering
Icy tomb
Hallowed womb
New life is born
When flesh is torn
Twisted spire
Green gem fire
Rainbow lights
Ancient rites
Can you see
Will you be
A life of dream
The ice will steam
The flesh it sticks
To fetid mix
Bleached stone white
Shadow cast light

Solstice
06:08
|
|||
Neath the moon neath the stars
Winter’s coming grain in jars
Sacrifices to sustain
From the alter blood will rain
Cross the sky chariot
With their lances necks are cut
Hear the howling hear the cheers
Severed heads on their spears
On this night there’s no battle
Bathed in blood of the cattle
Round the fire feast and drinking
Welcome winter sun is sinking

Misty Hollow
03:36
|
|||
Misty shadow spirits swirling round and round they go
In the hollow in the evening sun is getting low
Air is cooling deep exhaling breath hangs in the air
Feel the specter of the fallen spider lace for hair
Hear the raven she is croaking her song guides you on
The forest is a temple when you’re dead and gone
Now the pan flute whistles sweetly another welkin song
Dark and light playing games with those who don’t belong
Trees are soaring on and upward woven canopy
Leaves all rustle in the wind that gives the gift to see
Ferns and fungi rotting logs are homes to those in need
Toads and newts slimy worms and wriggling centipede
